the acting profession, and a scourge of Fitzpatrick as a coward and a great nuisance. She prefers seeing plays to reading
them. Holds Garrick blameless for reviving
the Chances after failure of
Eastward Ho. Comments at length on brilliance of contemporary stage costume in comparison with that earlier in
the century.
